The Annual Soap Box Derby held at Avon Dassett, a quiet country hamlet in Warwickshire where the whole village is one family. The heart of the village lies around the pub... The Avon.
All entries to the Soap Box Derby are home built machines which are driven by the builders using nothing more than the gradient of the 12% slope at the top of the village, reaching in excess of 40mph when they cross the finish line outside The Avon.
After the race everyone re-treets back to the pub enjoys the live music, BBQ and warm, friendly hosts from the landlord. All in aid of raising money for the The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (TAAS).
